I am lucky enough to take many trips during my time abroad, and I recently took a trip to Rome, Italy with my good friends, Chloe and Hilde!
In order to get to Rome, we took the night train from Bergen to Oslo. It was an interesting night of uncomfortable sleeping and interesting people, but it was still fun...of course. :) We then encountered some troubles along the way. Upon arriving in Oslo, we caught a train to the airport...the WRONG airport. With just about two hours before our flight took off, we ran to the airport bus in the hopes of making all the wait to airport #2. We snagged seats on the bus, and rode it for an hour and a half to the other airport in Oslo, somehow sliding into the parking lot a half hour before our plane was meant to depart. Along with a time crunch and passport scare, we made it on the plane! Bye Norway, hello Rome! |
Vatican City.
Vatican City was one of the most beautiful places that I've ever been. We had to wait in line in St. Peter's Square for only about 30 minutes, it went so fast! Once inside, St. Peter's Basilica was beautiful and HUGE. It was amazing to walk though. Once we went through St. Peter's Basilica, we headed to The Sistine Chapel. The amount of people inside The Sistine Chapel was ridiculous. We were so crowded, we couldn't move. But once inside, The Sistine Chapel was glorious. It was beautiful to stand inside such a glorious historical landmark.
The Trevi Fountain.
After getting some gelato (something we did every single day...sometime multiple times...) we headed to the Trevi Fountain, which is another beautiful landmark in Rome. We ended up sitting by the fountain for a few hours, Chloe and I just talking and Hilde napping. ;) It was a beautiful, sunny day, spent with great friends!
The Colosseum.
On our last day in Rome we went to The Colosseum, which was SO cool. It was huge (obviously) and extremely beautiful.
It was an overall great trip to Rome! It was beautiful and I'm glad I got to go with some great friends! Here are some more pictures from the trip. :)
