My apologies for finally posting after I've been here for about three weeks...my bad. Originally, I wasn't planning on doing a blog at all but while I was supposed to be reading for class, I decided it would be more fun to do this (hahaha). Let me officially start out by saying I'll post as much as I can, but it's not going to be all the time. Sorry. But I'll try my best!
The first few weeks here have been a blast, there's nothing like meeting a ton of new people from all over the world! I never thought that I would come to Norway and feel so completely comfortable right away. I was nervous the first few days, and I still get nervous going to check-outs at stores (because of the language barrier) but I haven't really missed home at all (especially because it's FREEZING there. Sorry everyone at home!). I think that the main reason is because of all the amazing people that I've met. Everyone is in the same situation and is eager to meet others. I meet new people every day! :D

First off, let me show you a picture from where I live. I live in an apartment in a place called "Fantoft." I have one roommate named Megan and her and I share the kitchen and bathroom. I have a pretty awesome view, just look at that mountain!
Where we live looks a bit like a run-down motel, but it's student housing. What can I say. It's actually pretty nice on the inside compared to what I heard from one student before I came.
No matter what it's like here, I really do love it! Fantoft houses (apparently) about 4,000 international students so I'm around new people all the time. I've met some amazing people and I've been having so much fun!

Exploring Bergen:
For the past few weeks, I've been exploring Bergen. We spent the first few days just walking around getting to know the city and getting comfortable. The city in itself is beautiful. The buildings are colorful and the architecture is so different from back home. There are also mountains everywhere, and the sea! Let's just say, it's quite gorgeous.
I Climbed a Mountain:
Bergen is surrounded by 7 mountains (and I will climb them all!). I had my first literal mountain climbing experience about a week ago. We climbed Lyderhorn and had an...interesting time. It was beautiful, but difficult. In Wisconsin, we call those hills that we have mountains...yeah, no. This was an intense, no path, mountain. It was awesome. The only hard part was that it was icy because it's so cold out. I only fell twice, which I was very proud of! It took about 2 hours to get (almost) to the top and about two hours back. But the view, the view was so worth it. Even though it was hard because that was my first climbing experience, I can't wait to climb the other six. On to the next! :)

Well, that's all I've got for this first post. Hopefully you enjoyed it. Now, I've gotta go to bed. :)
